Coperion is the global market leader in application, process and materials handling technologies, systems and services for the polymer, food, chemical and other compounded or extruded materials industries. The Group was created in 2000 following Lyceums acquisition of Werner & Pfleiderer GmbH from Thyssen Krupp and the subsequent merger of that business with Waeschle GmbH and with Buss AG, both formerly owned by Georg Fischer AG, Switzerland.

Coperion is headquartered in Stuttgart, and employs more than 2,000 staff in its operations across 27 countries, including in Germany, US, India, China, Russia, and in most European, Brazil and South East Asian countries. Since Lyceum assumed full control in 2003, Nanjing Keya Industries, the market leader China in 2004 was acquired and Buss AG has been sold to focus on its core technology and services businesses in 2006.

In Q1 2006 Lyceum emphasised its backing of Coperions world class management team, led by Manfred Eiden (CEO) and Gnter Bachmann (COO/CFO), when it increased its ownership of the group to 100%, successfully buying out large minority shareholders and completing a 180 million refinancing of the group to support further growth.
