Clinovia is the UK market leader in the provision of specialised home healthcare services for patients with long-term medical conditions.
This market is growing as the NHS and insurance companies increasingly seek to outsource healthcare delivery and provide more community and home-based products and services. Clinovia provides support to Strategic Health Authorities, Primary Care and NHS Hospital Trusts, as well as leading pharmaceutical companies, through high quality tailored home healthcare services for long-term patients with complex medical needs.
Clinovia operates two main businesses, (1) Homecare Services - management of patients, including, care for patients with intensive medical needs, and (2) Medicines' management - home delivery of drugs and related services.
In 2006, Clinovia acquired two additional companies active in homecare services, Guardian and Betacare.
Clinovia's range of services to patients include nursing, clinical waste collection and the provision of a 24-hour patient helpline as well as delivery of drugs, compounded antibiotics and feeds, and the provision of training and equipment to administer them. Current therapy areas include Multiple Sclerosis, total parenteral nutrition, fertility treatment, home chemotherapy, infection management and, complex care packages for neuro-rehabilitation, home ventilation and other support of patients with chronic or long term conditions.
By operating through flexible partnerships, Clinovia is able to help healthcare providers reduce their waiting lists and meet patient care targets set by the UK Department of Health.
Barclays Leveraged Finance, who have supported Clinovia Home Healthcare's growth since 2003, have provided Clinovia with additional facilities of some 15 million for acquisition in 2006, including the Guardian and Betacare acquisitions which have been completed.
Clinovia's growth has also enabled it to repay one third of the capital invested by Lyceum Capital 2000 investors since 2003.
